Gibson Burstbucker Type 2 w/Nickel Cover The Burstbucker line is Gibson’s drive to recapture the sound of those early pickups. Introduced in the early 90’s, the Gibson Burstbucker successfully captures the subtle variations and colors of the true, classic humbucker. With historically “unmatched” bobbin windings and Alnico II magnets, they produce an airy, wide tone, and overdriven they produce a distortion with glassy highs that made the originals famous.

The Gibson Burstbucker Type 1 features a lower output, perfect for neck position playing. Burstbucker Type 2 features a medium output, and works in both positions. Burstbucker Type 3 is overwound for a hot, high-gain output ideal for the bridge. None of the Burstbuckers are wax potted, and have vintage braided two-conductor wiring.
