This '59 Fender is the real deal, it is a great playing and sounding vintage Fender. The guitar was "restored" in the 80's and it has been fully refinished, both neck & body. The original owner long ago in the 60's had cut off both the horns of the guitar (see photos) and in the 80's they were replaced and the body was refinished. It's a professional job and was done very well, paperwork on the repair is in the case. The neck was refinished later and is also a professional job, the frets are in great shape, the tuners have been replaced and the holes were enlarged. From what we can tell 2 of the pickups (neck & middle) are original '59 and the bridge is a later 60's or 70's Fender pickup. The pots & switch looks to be non original, but the wires and cap look to be period correct. The pickguard and backplate are repo, the knobs and switch cap look original. The tremolo looks all original and comes with two vintage Fender tremolo arms and the original ashtray cover, it is setup flat against the body with 5 springs in it now. The football jack plate looks original. The case is in nice shape with normal wear. Just restrung with D'Addario 10-46 strings, plays great and sounds awesome.
